Solo Fow beach Warrior build (huom! melko vaikea) :

*UPDATE*
http://files.filefront.com/The_Spide.../fileinfo.html to see it in action.
Filefront is currently not allowing downloads, alternate link: http://rapidshare.de/files/9134185/T...erRun.wmv.html
Do not kill the Ancient Skales under any circumstance unless you're looking for a challenge afterwards.
If you're confused about running to them, download this:
http://files.filefront.com/Runningwm.../fileinfo.html

There are far too many warrios in ToA that sit there endlessly spamming "LFG" so it's about time we put them to good use.

Sprint
Flurry
Hundred Blades
Watch Yourself!
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet

EDIT: My original attributes were 11 strength, 13 sword and 12 tactics. However using a Superior Swordsmanship Rune allows you to achieve 12 strength, 13 sword, and 12 tactics.

Strength: 11 + 1
Sword: 10 + 3
Tactics: 11 + 1

Zealous and of Defense/Shelter sword upgrades. You need the bonuses to defense because you will be taking a lot of hits. Any stance equipment is optimal since well, you won't be enchanted and your health will dip above and below 50% with some frequency.

You appear in FoW, Sprint to the group on the right and run past them up to where a group of 2 warriors and a monk will be coming down. Take a break, and healing if nothing is chasing if you got hit by a fireball or something along those lines. Once they get close enough, run up to the path to the beach. Make the three patrols that are in that valley come up. With where you are standing, there should be a tall mountain which you will need to circle around should anything be following you. Once you start your path down to the beach you're home free. Use Sprint to break off any patrols, if you're a droknar runner I'm sure this sort of tactic is probably familiar to you.

Now, you can opt to do one of two things. You can keep running and not stop till you reach the entrance to the tunnel on the beach, or stop and kill every Snarling Driftwood and Doubter's Dryder on the way. I kill everything I can simply because they can both drop shards and I've even scored a few rare shadow shields. If you choose this route, run down all the way to almost in front of the dryder and fight the group there. You need to go this far down because the patrols of shadows do come back and you need to be far enough down.

Once done, hug the left wall and stop about where the wall cuts off maybe a little before. Kill the doubters and snarlings that come by. I advise NOT using Dolyak Signet at all during this point because in case the skales decide to wander you could be in trouble. Run to the next little area running past the skales, if you aggro them no big deal they'll stop following as long as you're at 25% faster running speed.

The areas where you can stop safely are on the radar images here:
[kuva]

Examine the groups in the next little area to determine where it is safe to run to next. At this part, I would suggest clearing any doubters or snarlings.

Now, you're at the tunnel. Pull the two closest dryders back. Under no circumstance should your aggro bubble touch where they were standing otherwise you release the spiders. They tend to be relucant to move too far out, but a longbow works just fine in this situation. Once they're dead, do the same thing on the last one.

Once they're dead. Run into the tunnel until three spiders appear. Then, run back luring the spiders with you (if they don't follow no big deal). Pull them along the wall until you're a fair distance from the entrance but not too far that you're aggroing skales. While engaged with these first group, the rest of the spiders will emerge from the cave and come out onto the beach.

Now, the tricky part.

Fighting them can be annoying, and you need to use a lot of strategic movements to get them to position themselves just right. When you're pulling them back they will bunch up together and use Healing Spring every so often. You can't compete against 3 healing springs in terms of damage. As such, when you're pulling them back watch your radar closely. When one of them hangs back slightly (because it will be using Healing Spring or Apply Poison) it will separate from it's comrades. At that point, turn around and run to the group of two and start fighting IF the lone spider decides not to move. Since they have a long range with their shot it shouldn't be too difficult to achieve this result, so as long as you're in it's range it will not move.

When fighting two at once, here is what you have to do if you want to get things done quickly. Otherwise, stick with one until it dies. Choose your target and attack it until one of two things happens. A) It uses Healing Spring or B) The other one uses Healing Spring. You can tell because it's health will start to go up naturally

A) Switch to the other spider and attack it until it does Healing Spring. At which point use Healing Signet and switch back to your first target. Repeat.

B) Continue to attack your current target until it does Healing Spring. Once it uses Healing Spring, use Healing Signet and switch to the other spider. Repeat.

Now, this deals with the first group you pulled. When dealing with the next lot, simply pluck an arrow into one and it will pull three spiders towards you. It's really THAT easy.

Once you clear the beach, note that every dryder afterwards has 6 armoured spiders that will spawn. One group from behind once the dryder is in your aggro bubble, the other after a certain period of time has passed. Deal with these annoyances in the similar pattern as before.

Remember:
Use healing signet (I use it twice inbetween springs) when Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself are up. If you need to, settle with one or the other, but using it while neither is up is foolish.

The run itself is profitable if shards and the like are actually dropping (similar to UW naturally). Clearing the beach and tunnel of all the pests takes me about 45 minutes. All and all, you could probably make just as much gold farming griffons or trolls, but the potential this area provides makes it worth the risk. In that same sense, I use this exact same build to farm Avicara Fierce and Brave in Mineral Springs.

I'd think of an axe variation, but I don't like axes. Have fun, and happy hunting.

In case there is anything I didn't cover, Ubermancer has provided another guide that is rather lengthy, but answers a lot of questions that you would have to sift through the numerous pages here to discover. http://p3.forumforfree.com/here-vp845-rfe.html#845[/i]

Solo Warrior Wailing forest Fow:
Introduction:

This guide will tell you on how to solo the Forest of the wailing Lord, within the Fissure of Woe. If you still have the stamina for it you can go and farm the spiders aswell with this build.

The Forest(1):

The Forest is densly populated by Spirit Woods, Spirit Shepherds, Armored Cave Spiders and Rock Borer Worms. In addition, there is a contingent of Skeleton Army units guarding the bridge leading to the Wailing Lord.

Spirit Woods: Edge of Extinction, Nature's Renewal, Primal Echoes,
Troll Unguent
Spirit Shepherds: Aura of Restoration, Chain Lightning, Iron Mist Iron
Mist,Lightning Strike, Lightning Touch
Armored Cave Spiders: Apply Poison, Called Shot, Healing Spring, Melandru’s
Resilience, Savage Shot
Rock Borer Worms: Choking gas, Lightning Reflexes, Pin Down, Throw Dirt

The Set-up:

Armor:
Personally I use platemail with knight boots, seeing as you’ll be taking plenty of elemental damage. Runes of superior vigor and absorption are a must. A Lieutenant's Helm for the times when you have Iron Mist on you.

Weapons / Shield:
Fiery Dragon Sword of Warding:
15-22
+15% damage while health is above 50%
Customized
+7 armor vs elemental attacks

Zealous Long Sword of Defense
15-22
+15% damage while health is above 50%
Energy gain on hit: 1
Energy regeneration: -1
Customized
Armor +5

Crimson Carapace Shield
16
-2 damage while in stance
+45 health while in stance

A Long Bow for pulling the Spirit Shepherds out of Primal Echo range.

Attribute Points:
This is what I’m using at the moment, I’m tweaking it around daily, yet sofar I have found this to be optimal:

Inspiration 8
Swordmanship 12
Tactics 9 (8+1)
Strenght 9 (8+1)

Note that I’m not using any superior runes other than vigor and absorption, you might want to add a weapon rune, but that’s entirely up to you. I like having more life against the Spikes delivered by the Spirit Shepherds.

Skills:
Hundred Blades
Final Thrust
Sprint
Watch Yourself
Healing Signet
Ether Feast
Mantra of Lightning
Mantra of Resolve

Now, you might be wondering about Ether Feast and Mantra of Resolve. There will be times that you won’t be able to use Healing Signet because of Primal Echoes, and while you are healing you don’t want to get interrupted. Surviving the spikes the Spirit Shephards inflict depends on timing these two healing spells after eachother. It is VITAL when fightning Spirit Shepherds that you are NOT effected by Primal Echoes.

Getting to the Forest:
[kuva]

The first picture shows your first stop point Rastigan and the Shadow monk and two Warriors are highlighted. Once you got rid of any damage taken or when some spells / hexes have worn off you proceed north-west untill you hit picture two, where you see a group of 4 Shadow monks to the right and a patrol to the left. Once the patrol walked by proceed to stop point number 3. Here you see 2 Shadow Elementals and 1 Shadow Mesmer wait untill any ‘negatives’ have worn off, run past them till you get to point 4.
Here is the tricky part.
On the 4th image you’ll see the 2 Shadow Elementals and the Shadow Mesmer below you and above you a group of Skeletons.
Two things can happen:

1)The shadows stop chasing you and you can regen and run past the skeletons without aggroing them, yes, you can aggro them and live, but I recommend that you don’t. So wait for them to bunch up and then run past.
2)The Shadows don’t stop chasing you. Lure them into the skeletons and let them fight while you run to the final stop.
The last image shows the final group of skeletons that you need to dodge. Once you get passed them you are at the entrance of the Forest.
There are some patrols between image 4 and 5, they have never given me any problems running to the Forest and I’m expecting that they won’t be a problem for others.

The Forest(2):

Now that you have reached the forest you will see a patrol of 3 Spirit Shepherds, lure these with your Long Bow away from any spirits, I.E. Pirmal Echoes. Immediately switch on Mantra of Lightning and start attacking the Shepherds, use Watch Yourself when charged and heal as needed. Here is where having two healing spells comes in handy. While one recharges use the other one. Personally I use the Dragon Sword on the Shepherds.

After these three you will encounter 2 Spirit Woods, usually accompanied by 6/7 Rock Borer Worms. Mantra of Resolve + Ether Feast + the Zealous weapon will dispatch thse quickly. Blind and Crippled inflicted by the Worms don’t pose much of a challenge. Choking Gas isn’t something that will stop you either.
Do watch out for patrolling Shepherds.

This is just to get you started. Spiders will popup / drop down from time to time, but usually no more than 2/3 at a time. I could write an entire guide on how to completely do it, but I won’t. I will give you some points that you need to be carefull of:
1) Don’t fight Shepherds when effected by Primal Echoes.
2) Watch your stances.
3) Pick the fights on your terms, study the patrols, study where you
are not effected by any spirits.
4) Know when to run!

So you make it to the bridge with the Skeletons and the Banshees. I usually turn around and go for some spider farming instead, yes, you can do it with this skill setup altho it isn’t as easy as with a full spider setup. Why I don’t take out the Skeletons, the traps layed down by them can tear you apart. Usually they will aswell.

How hard is it and is it even worth it?

I’m not going to lie, it’s hard. It’s very, very hard. To give you an indication: I rate spider farming on a scale from 1-10 a 3, UW Solo farming a 10. This I’d give about a 7, maybe an 8. The spikes, the spirits, the way to lure and all of that make this rather difficult.
Now the spoils of war from this trip is usally greater than that of Spider farming. Atleast in my case it has been.
So if it’s that hard, why should I even bother?
Well why not?
It offers a challenge, rewards are high, and I think of it as rather fun.

Conclusion:

If you are looking for another FoW enriching experience and like a challenge, this might be for you. If you are still finding farming Spiders hard to do, this won’t be for you just yet.

Tämän on ehkä tuplasti vaikeampaa kuin Beach, mutta Dropit ovat sitä mehevämmät. ^^

Part III

Aatxe with commentary:
http://files.filefront.com/UWSoloWit.../fileinfo.html

Although I told myself not to reveal this, there hasn't been one other person who was capable of even getting to the smites. Figure I might as well post it here and see if anyone else can complete this great tanking task. Plus the PMs about my spider build have dwindled as of late.

Gladiator's Defense {E}
Riposte
Deadly Riposte
Watch Yourself
Enfeeble
Bonetti's Defense
Healing Signet
Dolyak Signet

Curses: 8
Strength: 10 + 1
Tactics: 12 + 4

Optimal warrior equipment is a must, Superior Absorption and Vigor are not needed but they help against the smites because of how often their Zealot's Fire is triggered along with their normal attacks. That being said, a +5 armour hilt is needed, or a +7 vs. physical. You will also need the collector's wand outside of Nolani Academy. The one with 10% faster attack speed, however there are various versions of it. Just make sure you don't get the one with 10% chance to miss. -2 damage in stance shield, naturally and +health is always nice.

Immediately when you enter, run down to where the Lost Soul is and take a few steps to the left aggroing the lone aatxe patrol before it gets too close to the stationary group of two. This may spawn a Dying Nightmare or two, no worries. This is where you will learn to sheath your sword and stand before the level 29 enemy and strike it down with your wand.

Sword out. As it approaches you, Deadly Riposte and Enfeeble. Once the attack is blocked, switch to the wand and turn on Gladiator's Defense. Attack until Gladiator's Defense starts to flash. At this point, I press s as my wand attack comes to halt and switch to my sword/shield setup. This will cancel your attack so you won't trigger the Bladed Aaxte's Riposte and Deadly Riposte. Deadly Riposte and Enfeeble again. Follow this with a Riposte. Turn on Dolyak Signet and switch back to the wand it until Bonetti's Defense fills and turn it on. You may be hit by a Sever Artery during this time. It sucks, but don't worry. Continue to attack with the wand while Bonetti's Defense is on. Once it starts to flash, again press s (or however you've assigned your keyboard to step back) and switch to the sword/shield combo. Once Bonetti's wears off, Enfeeble Deadly Riposte again. Healing Signet, trigger Riposte. Once the attack is blocked, turn on Gladiator's Defense and switch back to the wand.

If you are bleeding, wand the aatxe until all of your adrenaline skills are filled. Use Watch Yourself, and use Healing Signet again. Wand it once more so Bonetti's Defense is filled again, switch weapon sets and stop attacking. Routine Deadly Riposte and Enfeeble, followed by a Riposte. Dolyak Signet, switch to the wand, attack once and turn on Bonetti's Defense. Repeat the pattern.

Lot of text to take down a single enemy. Really, it's just timing and nothing more. Provided luck is on your side and you don't get gashed too often (which you can still live through) you should be fine.

Now, while you still have adrenaline built up aggro the stationary group at the top of the stairs and fire with your wand. If there are any Dying Nightmares around, pull them back and kill them. In either situation, heal up first before you move on and let Gladiator's Defense refill.

Run to the safe haven of the side of the stairs, the aatxe are too large so only one can fit in at a time. Use the above process to bring it down. However, this time there will be no waiting so you need to make sure your timing is good. You'll need to kill the first aatxe sometime during Gladiator's Defense so that Enfeeble and one of your blocking sword skills are filled. However, stay calm, attack the next one with your wand until Gladiator's Defense is also done. Then when it ends, go into a similar attack pattern as before.

The middle group however cannot be defeated using this tactic. As such, refer to the screenshot I posted to get the generally idea of where to stand to make them block each other of. Just watch them as they approach, hug the ledge and make sure one is in front of the other AND they're close together.

I'm not posting the strategy for fighting Grasping Darkness. You have Gladiator's Defense, Watch Yourself, and Dolyak Signet. If you can't figure out how to beat them... you need to go back to the academy my friend.

Once the door opens, run to it and wait for the group of two aatxe to come to the door. At this point, lure them back to the stairs the lead up as opposed to the ones that lead down to the Lost Soul. Go on the stairs, and hug the wall closest to you. This will cause the aatxe to yet again block themselves off. Once this group is dispatched, run in and grab the patrol of three grasping darkness.

The next group of aatxe are the trickest to get to block each other off. However, they will chase back to the staircase sometimes. Othertimes, they block each other off and you can just run right past. In any case, wait for the patrol to run over closer to the smites. Then, when they're running back, aggro them at the small... uh, tunnel like area. Hug the left wall, and watch them on the radar to make sure they're blocking each other off. This one is really tricky to pull off, so if it isn't working turn on Gladiator's Defense and run. If you can't get this group, simply let the run past and make your way to the smites.

Groups of 3 and 4 smites are a breeze, 5 can sometimes be troubling. You just need to be more defensive and not attack as much. Typical strategy is to spike with both Riposte and Deadly Riposte at once to ensure one attack is always bypassing Reversal of Fortune. At all times, Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself. You will need to heal often, and make sure you have Dolyak Signet in effect when you do. There will be a 3 second gap when you won't have it on, and Watch Yourself is easy to maintain provided you can find a target that doesn't have Shield of Judgement in effect.

Shield of Judgement hits me for 48 damage in stance. Often because I'm impatient, I will cycle through the targets trying to find one that doesn't have it up. *I Do Not Recommend This Strategy. Once one has Shield of Judgement in effect, the rest usually do. Once you strike one under Shield of Judgement, immediately take mental note where Gladiator's Defense is and Dolyak Signet. Once Dolyak Signet recycles to where it was when you first hit a Shield of Judgement it should be safe to attack again. Do not use Gladiator's Defense until Dolyak Signet is back up. You need your pathetic 5 damage attacks to trigger Reversal Fortune as opposed to the 30s, 50s, and 60s from your other skills. Use Bonetti's Defense if you encounter a snag. By that I mean when you need to heal and only have Dolyak Signet in effect. Or, Dolyak Signet is ending and you need to heal. You'll figure it out when you get down there.

At no time do you attack when Gladiator's Defense is down. Optimal situations to use Riposte and Deadly Riposte is when they are both filled. Or, time your physical attack to trigger a Reversal of Fortune to make its next attack hit your Riposte since they'll fill more often than Deadly Riposte when you are attacking.

Against groups of 5, patience is a must. You may be standing there for a long time healing, and possibly not attacking during Gladiator's Defense. There have been countless times where I've been in the double digits, and single digits gets the old ticker going.

I've also provided screenshots of various places where it is safe to stop, and the path to take to ensure you do not fight any coldfire groups. Simply put, you can't kill them. It's not too difficult to figure out, just watch their paths and you can figure out when to move to the next spot. I recommend also bringing a bow to pull groups of smites deep in a Coldfire patrol.

I will say this now, this is very difficult and if you have troubles soloing the spiders in FoW then this is not for you... yet. This is much harder, you're simply not looking for a way to offset poison damage. This is making it so aatxe hit you for less than an invincimonk with Protective Spirit on (I've been hit for 0 before ) and tanking smites with no nukes knocking them down or a healing monk watching your back.

Good luck, and I hope someone can do it.

ok jos tää on GvG buildi, sulla luultavasti on Ranger tai mesmer tai molemmat hoitamassa tämän "häiritsemisen".

Vaihtaisin Hundred Bladesin johonkin muuhun, vaikka Bulls Charge (varmaan väärä nimi, en oo pelannu GWt pariin viikkoon, kiitos elisan.) Silloin saisi sprintinkin pois, tilalle joku muu.

Täs jonkulainen GvG buildi Mesmujen/muiden casterien tappamiseen, miksei myös warrujen jos on joku toinen auttamassa:
Hundred Blades
Distracting Blow
Savage Slash
Berserker's Stance (Voi vaihtaa oma valintaiseen strenght skilliin jos haluaa)
Endure Pain
Conjure Flame
Rush
Res sig

attributet:
Strenght: 10
Fire Magic: 10
Swordmanship: 12
