Valve Software head Gabe Newell confirmed today to our crack team of reporters that the highly anticipated Team Fortress 2 was in reality an elaborate play to see how many gamers they can snowball into pre-ordering a game that would never exist.

"We've received over 2 million pre-orders for Team Fortress 2. At 5 dollars a pop, that's over 10 million dollars for pure vaporware," confirmed Newell. He then stuck his thumbs in his ears and waved his fingers at no one in particular. "SUCKERS!!!" he then broke down into a 10-minute fit of maniacal laughter. "
