MS security bulletin concerning Windows Media Player - Martys Web @ 2:18


I have been hearing rumors floating around about this "Microsoft Security Bulletin MS02-032" Its a "Cumulative Patch for Windows Media Player" and its supposed to be "Very importiant".

But be warned one of the people over at bsdvault.net read some of the End User License Agreement on this one and here is what it said acording to him:

" * Digital Rights Management (Security). You agree that in order to protect the integrity of content and software protected by digital rights management (Secure Content) Microsoft may provide security related updates to the OS Components that will be automatically downloaded onto your computer. These security related updates may disable your ability to copy and/or play Secure Content and use other software on your computer. If we provide such a security update, we will use reasonable efforts to post notices on a web site explaining the update."

So what does this mean? It sounds like they are disabling the system with what is disguised as a Security update so you will not be able to play copys of music CD's and perhaps even more.

Taas ne touhuaa.. heheh.

Siis ne voi pistää ton päivityksen jälkeen koneelle kokoajan turvallisuuspäivityksiä jotka estää musan vääntelyn aina winampista soundforgeen?

Kun ohjelmat tekee patchin tohon, niin ms pukkaa ulos toista turvallisuuspäivitystä :/

Automaattinen windows update varmaan sanoo Nyt loppu musan kuuntelu! Ole hyvä ja lataa tämä päivitys.

Ja mähän en lataa mitään musan kuuntelu estoja.

Kohta saa vaihtaa sen "Intel Inside" logon "Micro$oft Inside".

Ikävä kyllä minunkin eula:ssani(end-of-user-license-agreement) oli tuollainen kohta. Nyt lähti media player roskakoriin.

Pitäisi varmaan hankkia linux.

Ei se auta jos heität sen playerin roskiin. Olet jo antanut mikkisoftalle luvan tehdä mitä ne tahtoo.

Minulla on vain tunne, että ne automaattiset lataukset ovat media playerissä. Ja luulenpa että ne sopimukset voi poistaa rekistereistä tai jotakin.
