Lainaus:GPU - Wii 2's GPU will be a modified version of AMD's R700 architecture.

CPU - The CPU will be a custom-designed triple-core version of the IBM PowerPC chipset.

Visuals - Project Cafe will run in 1080p, and may be able to utilize Stereoscopic 3D, though it hasn't been confirmed as a feature.

Size & Design - The console will be around the same size as the first-gen Xbox 360, and may be designed to look like a futuristic looking Super Nintendo.

Price - Say goodbye to Nintendo having the "budget" console: Project Cafe may cost between 350 and 400 dollars.

Release Date - Supposedly, the Cafe itself could be ready to ship from the manufacturer to retailers as soon as mid-to-late October, but in order to give developers more time with the new hardware, Nintendo may not launch the console until early 2012.

Mitkäs porukan fiilikset? Onko nyt oikea aika seuraavalla sukupolvelle? Miten käy Wiille? Miten Sony ja Microsoft vastaavat?

Toivottavasti tämän konsolin kohdalla nintendo hylkää nämä naurettavat kaverikooditsydeemit ja panostaisi uusien pelien ja sarjojen luomiseen, kuin että tuovat taas julkaisuun wanhoja porttauksia ja uudelleen julkaisuja.

Olisi erittäin hienoa, jos kaikki wiin virtualconsole ja wiiware pelit saisi siirrettyä wiistä tähän wiin seuraajaan.

Itse pelkään, että tämänkin konsolin kohdalla käy niin, että ainoat AAA-Laatuiset pelit tulevat vain itse nintendolta ja kolmannet osapuolet puskevat ö-luokan tusinasontaripuliulostetta, niin kuin wiin kodalla valitettavasti kävi.

Tosiaan nettipalveluita sais Nintendo uudistaa oikein urakalla, Live ja PSN kun ovat valovuosia Wiin vastaavia edellä.

Tuli vaan mieleen että jos siinä ohjaimessa on kuuden tuuman näyttö, niin aikamoinen kapula se saa olla. DSsän näyttö taitaa olla 3,5 tuumaa. Mutta aika näyttää.. tai E3 nyt ainakin.

Ehkäpä tuossa toimisi GC pelit, eikä siten tarvisi Wiitä ostaa ollenkaan

- The console is confirmed to be backwards compatible with all Wii/Gamecube titles, and all your VC games will be transferred over once you link your credit card to the system.

- Many 3rd party developers have development kits who are supposedly hard at work to have something to show (and play) at E3.

-3rd Parties were involved with the development of the console, with requests for what specifications they’d like to see. As of now (which could change) the system runs of a custom built IBM triple-core CPU and has 2gb RAM. The graphics chip is a custom built Radeon R700 chip.

- There is an internal SSD. Size is unknown at this point.

- It will run natively at 1080p.

- The new controller slightly resembles a Gamecube controller with a large LCD screen in the middle of it. The controller is light for its size and looks like a tablet with Gamecube-like prongs to the side. It has dual analogue sticks, face buttons, d-pad and shoulder buttons. No triggers were on the device.

- The screen on the controller is indeed a 6″ LCD high resolution (reported 640 x 960 pixels) display. However, Nintendo said in order to keep battery life manageable, the controller doesn’t have any hardware to produce graphics itself. The image is simply a video stream directly from the console.

- The controller uses rechargeable lithium ion batteries. Size of the battery is unknown.

- The Wiimote can be used and a new model of Wiimote will be released with the console. This new controller will have overhauled internals allowing for much more precise movement tracking than even the Wiimote Plus had.

- The Project Cafe system development kit is not representative of the final console design. The console is smaller and resembles the Japanese/European SNES models.

- Nintendo have told developers that their online system will be ‘the best online experience’ that’s available on consoles. The whole idea of the machine is to be connected to the internet 24/7. It’s being targeted as an online/social console. Friend codes are gone, but no word on whether the online service will be subscription based.

- The Pokemon RPG is the title Nintendo will be showing off their online experience with.

- As reported by other sources, Nintendo is targeting this console to the hardcore gamers once again.

Jos tuo huhu pitää paikkaansa, niin lähtee kyllä "Wii 2..." ostoon!

Olihan tuo Wii ihan kiva lelu mutta ainakin seuraavia asioita toivoisin seuraavaan Nintendon pelikoneeseen:

1) Kaverikoodeista yms 90-luvun shiteistä luovuttava, käyttöön samanlaiset palvelut kuin kilpakumppaneilla
2) Tehoja lisää ( ei vain käy laatuun että grafiikat junnaavat paikallaan, vaikkeihan se visuaalinen puoli yleensä tärkeintä olekaan)
3) Kunnollisia pelejä eikä mitään pelkkiä partypelejä pelkästään.

Wii ei oikein sytyttänyt, mutta jospa tämä olisi oikeasti "HC" -pelaajille suunnattu vehje niin ostoon menee.

Hieman alkanut himoittamaan nyt Wii, mutta pitänee varmaan odotella minkälainen vekotin tämä sitten on.
Jos ei muuta niin eiköhän Wiin hinta tule sitten putoamaan lisää jos ei niin kauheasti tämä uusi innosta.

Gamecubenkin ostin vasta tossa pari vuotta sitten kun sai parilla kympillä poistettua, että sinänsä pärjäisi varmaan Wiillä myös pidempään jos tuo uusi ei oikein innostakkaan ja voihan tuonkin sitten myöhemmin ostaa kun hinnat putoaa.

Jos kuitenkin sama kuin Wii paremmilla graffoilla niin ei ainakaan silloin ole omaan käyttöön ihan hintansa arvoinen kun pääosin tulee kuitenkin pelattua ps3:lla johon löytyy myös move, jotain casual ja party pelejä sitten Wiillä olisi tarkoitus pelata silloin tällöin.

Ensimmäinen Nintendon kotikonsoli SNES:in jälkeen jonka ostaminen julkaisuikkunassa ei vaan kiinnosta, sen verran järjetön pettymys Wii oli, vaikka tarjosikin joitakin erinomaisia pelihetkiä. Julkaisun Legend of Zelda oli huikea peli, mutta se olisi ollut huikea jo Gamecubella, Metroid Prime 3 päätti trilogian ihan mukavasti, Super Mario Galaxy oli aivan fantastinen kuten jatko-osansakin, lisäksi muutamat hauskat heilumismoninpelisessiot on tullut koettua + muutama ihan kiva muu peli hommattua, mutta omassa kodissa PS3 on ollut aivan ylivoimaisesti kovemmassa käytössä. Vaikka pelimaailma onkin menossa monilta osin kämäseen suuntaan (mä en halua pelata netissä machosotilasräiskintää, ok??) niin kyllä pelkkään Wiihin tällä kierroksella tyytyneet pelaajat ovat jääneet pois ihan huikeista kokemuksista.

Seuraan toki mielenkiinnolla mitä E3:ssa paljastetaan, mutta kone joka tehoiltaan vastaa boxia/PS3:sta ja sisältää vain taas uuden ohjaustyylin ei vakuuta. Tämä sukupolvi on osoittanut sen, että grafiikat ovat vain pieni osa peliä, mutta suuremmat tehot mahdollistavat pelimaailmat joista vähemmillä tehoilla vain unelmoidaan.
